As part of ongoing efforts to promote human development and enhance economic and social integration, the regional committee for the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) in the Moulay Yacoub province approved 32 new development projects. The approval came during a meeting chaired by the province’s governor, Mr. Mohamed Samir El Khamlichi, on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
During the meeting, the governor reviewed the achievements of the INDH for the 2019-2024 period, which included the implementation of 561 projects at a total cost exceeding 230 million dirhams. These initiatives have contributed to improving infrastructure and essential services, supporting vulnerable groups, creating job opportunities for youth, and enhancing human capital, particularly in the fields of maternal and child health, school transportation, and reducing school dropout rates.
The newly approved projects include 28 initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, with a budget of 2.7 million dirhams, which will create 84 direct job opportunities for youth, women, and people with disabilities, with a focus on spatial equity in their distribution. Additionally, 4 projects were allocated to maternal and child health and educational support, costing 1.34 million dirhams, including the equipping of maternity centers and the purchase of school buses.
In closing, the governor emphasized the importance of adhering to this royal initiative, urging local stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of the projects in line with the population’s needs and the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
