Former President of Sebt Al-Oudaya Faces Heavy Charges: Trial Set for December 17

Khalid Al-Fadhili, the former president of the Sebt Al-Oudaya municipality in the Moulay Yacoub province, has been referred to the Criminal Chamber at the Fez Court of Appeal. His first trial session is scheduled for December 17.

Currently serving a two-year prison sentence, Al-Fadhili faces serious accusations, including undermining the authority of King Mohammed VI, a violation of constitutional principles and national values.

The charges also involve allegations of corruption and abuse of power during his over two-decade tenure as the municipality’s president. Furthermore, he is accused of intimidating civil society organizations to silence their demands for accountability and to cover up his misconduct.
