A tragic traffic accident occurred on Monday afternoon, August 12, in Casablanca, resulting in 27 injuries, including three in critical condition, following a collision between two urban transport buses.
The accident took place at the intersection of Abdelkader Sahraoui and Idriss El Harti boulevards. According to media sources, the cause of the accident was attributed to the reckless driving of one of the bus drivers coming from Abdelkader Sahraoui Boulevard, which collided with the other bus.
Immediately after the incident, local authorities rushed to the scene, and a judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to uncover the circumstances of the accident.
The same sources reported that the injured were transported to Sidi Othman Hospital in Casablanca to receive necessary medical treatment.
It’s worth noting that this accident comes in the context of increasing attention to road safety issues in Morocco, especially in large cities like Casablanca, which experience heavy traffic.
