On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Government Council approved a draft decree signed by Interior Minister Abdelouafi Lefteit, which includes the creation of new administrative districts in various regions of Morocco, including the Fez municipality.
This project aims to increase the management capacities of the territorial administration in the Fez municipality and support the administrative framework to keep pace with the demographic, social and urban transformations taking place in the region.
Upgrading the community of Oulad El Tayeb to the level of a bishopric
This decision aims to strengthen the administrative structure of the community and enable it to provide better services to citizens. The promotion of the community to the level of a bishopric means deleting the current Oulad El Tayeb command and replacing it with a more advanced administrative structure capable of dealing with the increasing challenges and modern requirements of the region’s population.
Creation of Ain El Baida Command
In addition, it was announced that a new command named “Ain El Baida” will be created within the territorial jurisdiction of the Fes Municipality. This new command includes the community of Ain El Baida, and aims to improve the management of resources and services in this area and provide a better environment for its residents, reflecting the government’s efforts to support administrative framing in areas that witness significant demographic and urban growth.
