In a working session held today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Geneva, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, affirmed the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to the importance of multilateral international cooperation with international organizations in various fields, including intellectual property and cultural heritage protection.
Mr. Bensaid expressed Morocco’s renewed commitment to strengthening the partnership and bilateral work in the field of intellectual property and cultural heritage protection, pointing to the efforts made by the Kingdom under the guidance of His Majesty the King through a number of initiatives aimed at protecting and preserving its cultural heritage.
Among these initiatives are the launch of the “Label Maroc” mark of excellence, the preparation of a new legal text on cultural heritage, in addition to strengthening the institutional apparatus of the Moroccan Office of Copyright and Related Rights as a public institution, and strengthening the legal framework for the right of follow-up and copyright, all of which are efforts that come within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.
