The Public Prosecution Service announced that the judicial offices established inside stadiums hosting matches of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 have processed a total of 152 violations during the period from December 21, the official start of the competition, through January 6.
According to official data reported by the Maghreb Arab Press, these violations led to the prosecution of 128 individuals of different nationalities, for acts described as being related to access to stadiums, as well as safety and public order within sports venues.
The same sources explained that judicial offices were set up inside several stadiums hosting tournament matches, including Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, as part of an organizational mechanism aimed at the immediate handling of violations recorded during matches. This approach helps simplify legal procedures and reduce pressure on courts.
According to available statistics, cases of illegal access or attempted illegal entry into stadiums topped the list of recorded violations, with 61 cases, followed by offenses related to ticket sales outside the legal framework or without authorization (19 cases).
In the same context, local media reports indicated the arrest of around 100 individuals in several cities on suspicion of involvement in illegal practices related to ticket reselling since the start of the competition.
The recorded violations also included the use of flares inside the stands, isolated incidents of violence, as well as cases involving the possession or consumption of cannabis resin (hashish) in the vicinity of stadiums.
According to the authorities concerned, these measures fall within the framework of strengthening security and organization during major sporting events, and ensuring that Africa Cup of Nations matches take place in an atmosphere that respects the law and safeguards the safety of spectators and participants.
