Meet the Refereeing Crew for the Morocco vs. Cameroon Quarterfinal at AFCON 2025

The Referees Committee of the Confederation of African Football has finalized the officiating team for the highly anticipated quarterfinal clash between the Morocco national football team and the Cameroon national football team. The match is scheduled for Friday at the Stade Moulay Abdellah, with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m., as part of the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco.

The committee appointed Egyptian referee Amin Omar to officiate the match, assisted by his compatriots Mahmoud Abu El-Regal as first assistant and Adel El-Banna as second assistant. Congolese official Jean Jacques Ndala has been designated as fourth official.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be led by Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal, with assistance from Tunisian official Haithem Guirat.

As part of the quarterfinal assignments, the Referees Committee also designated Moroccan referee Jalal Jaid to officiate the Egypt vs. Côte d’Ivoire match, set for Saturday at Adrar Stadium, kicking off at 8:00 p.m.

Additionally, Somali referee Omar Artan will take charge of the Nigeria vs. Algeria quarterfinal at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

In the same round, Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal will also officiate the Mali vs. Senegal encounter on Friday at the Grand Stade de Tanger.

These appointments reflect the Referees Committee’s commitment to assigning experienced international officials to the tournament’s decisive stages, ensuring fair competition and smooth proceedings in an edition hosted by Morocco amid strong public and media interest.
