Judiciary Joins the National Portal for the Right to Access Information

Today, Wednesday, the headquarters of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the judiciary and the Right to Access Information Commission, in the presence of Mohamed Abdel Nabaoui, Delegate President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Hicham Blaloui, Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and Omar Sghrouchni, President of the Right to Access Information Commission.

The agreement aims to integrate the components of the judiciary into the National Portal for the Right to Access Information, affirming citizens’ constitutional right to access information and enhancing institutional cooperation to facilitate request processing, develop proactive data publication mechanisms, while ensuring the protection of privacy and the confidentiality of judicial investigations.

In his speech, Hicham Blaloui emphasized that the right to access information is a fundamental pillar of citizenship rights, playing a key role in strengthening public trust in the administration, consolidating integrity and transparency, and reinforcing the relationship between administration and citizens in support of the rule of law.

The Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office added that the judiciary’s participation in the portal reflects a clear institutional commitment to openness and positive interaction with citizens’ demands, highlighting measures taken to implement Law No. 31.13, including proper information management, proactive data publication, and the appointment of specialized deputies to review and process information requests within legal deadlines, while respecting legal exceptions.

The agreement concluded with an affirmation of the judiciary and the Right to Access Information Commission’s commitment to making this partnership a strategic institutional lever to enhance transparency, build citizens’ trust in the justice system, and establish an effective model for access to information in Morocco.
