As part of its firm commitment to protecting the rights of women and girls and combating all forms of violence against them, the General Directorate of National Security has announced its active participation in the global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” organized annually by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
This participation confirms the Directorate’s role in fulfilling its legal and institutional responsibilities to provide full legal protection to victims, and to strengthen mechanisms for reporting, rapid intervention, and judicial follow-up for all forms of physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence affecting women and girls.
The campaign, which runs from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (International Human Rights Day), serves as an annual occasion to mobilize national and international efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of gender-based violence and promote a culture of respect for women’s rights.
In this context, the General Directorate of National Security has renewed its call to all women and girls who experience any form of violence to file official complaints without hesitation, emphasizing that it provides all legal guarantees and necessary protection throughout the stages of reporting, investigation, and prosecution.
The Directorate also called on civil society and partner institutions to intensify joint efforts to definitively eliminate the phenomenon of violence against women and to promote a culture of equality and human dignity.
