Marrakech – November 24, 2025
General Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), published an official post on his LinkedIn account this Monday morning as the 93rd General Assembly session began in Marrakech (November 24-27), confirming that this session will be the last he presides over in his official capacity, noting that the election of a new president for the organization will take place at the conclusion of the proceedings to lead INTERPOL over the next four years.
Al-Raisi stated: “This year’s General Assembly meetings are of special significance to me, as they will be the last in which I participate as President of the organization. At the end of this Assembly, a new president will be elected to continue leading and supporting the organization’s mission in the coming period.”
The outgoing president focused on three main priorities during the Marrakech session:
- Adoption of INTERPOL’s New Strategic Framework (2026-2030)
Al-Raisi explained that a five-year roadmap has been prepared in collaboration with the Executive Committee and the Secretary General, focusing on:- Strengthening digital transformation and technological modernization,
- Developing governance and internal policies,
- Building police capabilities and raising officer readiness globally,
with the aim of combating transnational crime more effectively and preparing for emerging threats.
- Election of the New President
He expressed his full confidence in the candidates, affirming that each possesses distinguished skills and experience, and that INTERPOL “will be in safe hands” after selecting a new leader who embodies the highest standards of integrity, vision, and dedication. - Strengthening Cross-Border Cooperation and Data Exchange
He emphasized that facilitating international cooperation and efficient, flexible information exchange remains at the core of INTERPOL’s mission, expressing pride in the progress made and his aspiration for more advanced innovative solutions to build trust and strengthen cross-border partnerships.
Al-Raisi also gave special commendation to the Kingdom of Morocco, noting that it has been a strategic partner to INTERPOL since 1957 and has played a vital role in the region by hosting major meetings and training personnel in the Middle East and North Africa. He added that Marrakech’s hosting of the General Assembly for the second time (after the 2007 session) reflects Morocco’s firm commitment to supporting the organization and enhancing international police work.
He concluded his post by saying: “I look forward to meeting colleagues from around the world and continuing to exchange ideas, visions, and experiences to support our shared mission of making the world safer for all individuals and communities.”
