Marrakech Hosts 93rd Interpol General Assembly with 196 International Delegations and Abdellatif Hammouchi Receives Delegations

The work of the Ninety-Third Session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) began this Monday morning, November 24, 2025, in the city of Marrakech, continuing over four days until November 27, with the participation of 196 official delegations representing countries and security organizations from around the world.

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, personally oversaw the reception ceremonies for participating official delegations, in a move reflecting the exceptional importance the Kingdom of Morocco attaches to this major international security event, and confirming the leading role Morocco has come to play on the global security scene.

The conference hall in Marrakech witnessed the arrival of interior ministers, police chiefs, security agency directors, and international experts, where Mr. Hammouchi welcomed them with an approach combining formality and high professional competence, highlighting Morocco’s commitment to ensuring the success of this event, which is among the most prominent items on Interpol’s agenda.

In a speech on this occasion, General Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), praised Morocco’s distinguished geostrategic position as a bridge between Africa, Europe, and the Arab world, expressing his complete confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to organize and secure major international events. President Al-Raisi also directed special praise to Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, describing cooperation with him as “always at a high level of requirements and professionalism.”

The General Assembly’s work addresses crucial strategic files, including:

  • Adopting the activity program and budget for the coming years,
  • Strengthening operational tools to combat transnational organized crime,
  • Confronting fraud centers and international financial crimes,
  • Developing and expanding digital platforms and networks for exchanging security information more quickly and effectively.

The choice of Marrakech to host this session comes as new evidence of international appreciation for the security position Morocco has achieved, and the confidence its security institutions enjoy with partners in the International Criminal Police Organization.
