Casablanca – The indoor football league for the National Security family concluded on Saturday evening, November 8, at the covered hall of the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca, with the Laayoune Security Prefecture team crowned champions, in the context of national celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the victorious Green March, which embodies popular cohesion and commitment to territorial unity under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
League Details and Coronation
The league, organized by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in coordination with its affiliated sports associations, saw the participation of teams representing various security prefectures across the Kingdom, in competitions that witnessed a high technical level and great sportsmanship. The Laayoune Security Prefecture team was crowned with the cup after a distinguished performance in the final match, surpassing their competitors thanks to defensive organization and offensive effectiveness, reflecting the efforts made in developing sports within the security institution.
The closing ceremony was attended by high-ranking security officials, alongside sports and administrative figures, where cups and medals were distributed to the crowned teams, with national artistic performances that evoked the epic of the Green March and its significance in strengthening national unity and belonging.
Linking Sports with National Values
The organization of this league comes as part of a series of sports and cultural activities launched by the General Directorate of National Security to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Green March, which was launched on November 6, 1975, under the leadership of the late King Hassan II, and led to the completion of sovereignty over the southern provinces. The league aims to enhance physical fitness among security personnel and consolidate values of solidarity and discipline, while linking sporting achievement with the national symbolism of the southern provinces, especially through the crowning of the Laayoune team, which represents one of the main prefectures in the Moroccan Sahara.
