Tetouan – Police forces of the Tetouan Security Prefecture, in close coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully carried out a security operation on the evening of Wednesday, November 5, resulting in the seizure of 26,550 drug pills and the arrest of two individuals aged 20 and 25, suspected of links to a criminal network specializing in international drug trafficking using drones.
Details of the Security Operation
The suspects were arrested in flagrante delicto for possession and trafficking of narcotics. A thorough search led to the seizure of 26,550 psychotropic pills of various types in their possession. Investigations also revealed the confiscation of 235 grams of cocaine, in addition to 10 drone batteries suspected of being used to facilitate smuggling operations across border crossings.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal networks involved in drug trafficking, highlighting the use of modern technology such as drones as an innovative means to evade security surveillance.
Subsequent Legal Proceedings
The arrested individuals have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, with the aim of uncovering all possible extensions of this criminal activity and accurately determining the charges against them.
