Widespread Boycott of GENZ212 Movement’s Protest Calls in Morocco

Calls by the GENZ212 movement to organize protests on Saturday, October 18, 2025, witnessed a comprehensive boycott by Moroccan citizens. Participation was extremely low, with fewer than 200 people attending across four cities: Tangier, Rabat, Marrakech, and Casablanca, according to field data. This scene reflects a significant decline of the movement and a failure of its digital mobilization efforts.

The boycott followed a wide rejection campaign expressed by Moroccans through the hashtag #هنيونا on social media platforms, which caused disruption among the movement’s leaders on the Discord platform, urging the public to ignore their posts. Field developments confirmed the Moroccan public’s refusal to be drawn into the movement’s calls, which were described as suspicious, especially after deviating from the social goals initially promoted.

Citizens demonstrated a strong commitment to national stability, expressing collective awareness against incitement and attempts to incite chaos. This stance reflects their rejection of any actions aimed at destabilizing security and social peace in the country.
