On the evening of Monday, September 29, police officers at the Marrakech Security Directorate, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, succeeded in arresting a 42-year-old French citizen of Arab origin, who was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities.
The screening process in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization “Interpol” revealed that the detainee is wanted internationally under a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Paris, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was placed under judicial custody in accordance with instructions from the competent public prosecutor’s office, while the National Central Bureau “Interpol Rabat” was tasked with notifying its French counterpart of the arrest, in preparation for extradition procedures.
This arrest is part of the efforts by Moroccan security services to activate mechanisms for international security cooperation and to pursue those implicated in crimes crossing national borders.
