RABAT – The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the new conditions for admission to the third year of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2025-2026 academic year, in a move aimed at regulating access to this vital medical field and ensuring the training of highly qualified professionals.

In a circular addressed to university presidents and higher education institutions, the Ministry revealed that admission to the third year of pharmacy will be through an open competitive examination, specifying the eligible specializations for participation in this competition.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the competition is open to students holding a General University Studies Diploma (DEUG) in several scientific specializations, most notably Life Sciences (SV), Earth and Universe Sciences, in addition to Life and Earth Sciences (SVT), and Chemistry-Biology (CB).

The scope of eligibility also includes holders of a University Diploma in Science and Technology with a specialization in Biology-Chemistry-Geology, which broadens the base of students eligible to enter this highly sought-after field in the job market.

The admission process to the Faculty of Pharmacy will take place in two consecutive stages. The first will be a preliminary selection of candidates based on the evaluation of their files by a specialized committee to determine those accepted to the second stage.

The second stage will consist of a written examination to be held at the respective faculty. The exam will cover Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics, with the exam topics derived from the curriculum of the first and second years of the General University Studies Diploma in Life Sciences and Earth and Universe Sciences.

The Ministry clarified that pharmacy studies aim to train qualified pharmacists to work in various fields of pharmacy, whether in laboratories, hospitals, or pharmaceutical industrial institutions, as well as in the field of scientific research.

This announcement comes as part of the efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education to regulate and control the conditions for admission to medical and paramedical fields, with the aim of improving the quality of training and meeting the needs of the national job market for specialized competencies in the health sector.

This announcement is expected to attract significant interest from eligible students, given the importance of the pharmacy sector in Morocco and the promising opportunities it offers graduates in various health, industrial, and research sectors.
