5 unions await implementation of Brada’s promises: Teachers’ compensation and school equipment at stake

RABAT – Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports convened a pivotal meeting of the Supreme Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee with the five most representative teachers’ unions. The meeting aimed to evaluate the implementation of the December 10 and 26, 2023 agreements and monitor the application of the special status system for department personnel, with particular focus on preparations for the upcoming academic year.

  • Remote Zone Allowances: Study findings to be submitted to the technical committee next October
  • PhD Holders: Selection process at “advanced stage” with results pending verification
  • Status Regularization: “Advanced stage” resolution for former contractual teachers; commitment to examine non-formal education supervisors
  • Competitions: Final results for professional competitions and training center access to be published upon data finalization

The ministry reiterated plans to enhance compensation for specific categories (primary and middle school teachers, specialized staff, educational assistants) through a complementary allowance.
