On Monday morning, July 21, police forces in the regional security district of Tata successfully thwarted an international hashish smuggling attempt, seizing 598 kilograms and 500 grams of the drug.
This security operation was conducted in coordination with Royal Gendarmerie elements in the rural area of “Foum El Hissn,” located approximately 120 kilometers from Tata. Authorities discovered 20 bundles of hashish hidden in a rocky area, awaiting their smuggling operation.
The judicial police services in Tata have initiated a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The aim is to uncover all circumstances and details of this case, identify all individuals involved in the criminal network responsible, and take the necessary legal actions against them.
This operation comes within the framework of the intensive and continuous efforts exerted by the General Directorate of National Security to combat international drug and psychotropic substance trafficking, thereby protecting the health and social security of citizens.
