On Sunday, July 20, police officers at the Tangier Med Port security district successfully intercepted an international drug trafficking operation involving 25 kilograms of raw cocaine concealed inside a shipping container.
The container, which arrived from a South American port and was destined for a Dutch port, was subjected to thorough security checks. The inspection revealed 23 tightly packed cocaine bricks stored within the container’s refrigeration system, totaling 25 kilograms.
The Tangier Judicial Police Unit has opened a criminal investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to identify all local and international connections of this transnational criminal network.
This operation is part of intensified efforts by security services to combat international drug trafficking rings, particularly those smuggling high-risk narcotics and psychotropic substances.
