Large Seizure of 102,000 Narcotic Pills Foiled at Bab Sebta Border in Joint Security Operation

A joint operation between the National Police and Customs at the Bab Sebta border crossing on the evening of Saturday, June 28, successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of narcotic pills into Morocco, consisting of 102,000 medical narcotic tablets.

The operation led to the arrest of a female driver, a Spanish national of Moroccan origin, accompanied by her two children and another Moroccan woman, immediately upon their arrival in Morocco. A thorough search uncovered 102,000 “Rivotril” narcotic tablets carefully concealed within a specially prepared cavity in the vehicle’s structure.

The suspects have been placed under judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover the possible national and international networks linked to this criminal activity.

This case is part of ongoing and intensified security efforts by various Moroccan authorities aimed at combating international drug trafficking and psychotropic substances, as well as dismantling all forms of transnational crime.
