Today, Thursday, June 19, 2025, the new edition of the Fès-Meknès Economic Forum is being held in the city of Fès at the Marriott Hotel from June 19 to 21, 2025. The forum takes place under the theme “Investment, Innovation, Cooperation: Keys to a Shared Future,” aiming to strengthen economic cooperation and open investment opportunities among local, regional, and international stakeholders.
The first day began at 2:30 PM with a reception and participant registration session, followed at 3:00 PM by a welcoming address delivered by prominent figures including Mr. Hamza Ben Abdallah, President of the Fès-Meknès Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services and Chair of the Forum; Mr. Abdelwahed Ansari, President of the Fès-Meknès Regional Council; and Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade. Representatives from African, Francophone, and Moroccan chambers of commerce also participated, including Mr. Christophe Ekin, President of the Permanent Conference of African and Francophone Chambers; Mr. Lahcen Allaoua, President of the Moroccan Federation of Chambers of Commerce; and Mr. Omar Tajmouati, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises – Fès-Meknès.


The session featured the signing of several strategic partnership agreements, including one with the Paris Chamber of Commerce, trilateral agreements with the Moroccan Chamber of Crafts and Cameroon, and with the Agricultural Chamber and Mauritania. Additional agreements were signed with the Chambers of Commerce of Benin and Ivory Coast, a cooperation protocol with the Dakar Chamber to establish a Morocco-Senegal joint chamber, and a partnership agreement with the Moroccan-European Union Chamber of Commerce, strengthening economic ties between Morocco and its African and European partners.
From 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, a panel titled “We Are Africans, We Can” took place, featuring Mr. Dominique Restino, President of the Paris Chamber of Commerce; His Highness Sheikh Khawiya Ould Mohamed Khouna, President of the Mauritania Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Iman Belmati, Director General of the National Agency for Employment Promotion and Skills (ANAPEC); and Mr. Adam Hiraika, Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa office. The panel discussed opportunities for cooperation and challenges facing economic development across Africa.
At 6:00 PM, the official launch of the Employment Day and the African and Francophone Business Meetings Conference was held, aiming to create job opportunities and enhance trade partnerships among economic actors.
The first day concluded with an awards ceremony held from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, honoring outstanding initiatives and achievements in investment, innovation, and economic cooperation.
The Fès-Meknès Economic Forum 2025 serves as a vital platform to boost economic and investment cooperation between Morocco and its African and European partners, supporting regional initiatives aimed at building a sustainable economic future that fosters growth and development in the region.
