Administrative Court in Fez Reviews Appeals by Parents of Al-Ikhwan School Students in Ifrane Following Decision to Bar Their Children from School

Two additional appeals have been filed before the Administrative Court in Fez by parents of students at Al-Ikhwan School in Ifrane, challenging the school administration’s decision to prevent their children from continuing their studies. This brings the total number of parents contesting the decision to seven.

The initial five parents submitted their appeals on May 27, followed by two more parents two days later, amid escalating tensions surrounding the case, which has sparked widespread debate in the city.

This escalation comes just one day after a former school official was sentenced to one year in prison by the Fez Court of Appeals for embezzlement of the school’s funds, a case that attracted significant public attention.

The parents expressed strong dissatisfaction with the administrative decision, describing it as unfair and unjustified. They emphasized that barring their children from school threatens their educational future and violates their fundamental rights. They called for dialogue and understanding between the administration and families, rather than punitive measures that complicate the situation further.

The Administrative Court in Fez is closely monitoring the case and has scheduled further hearings to examine all submitted appeals, ensuring that all concerned parties are duly notified of the rulings.

These developments occur amid community and local demands for fair solutions that safeguard students’ right to education and restore stability to the institution, which is considered one of the prominent schools in the Ifrane region.

This case highlights the sensitivity of education and student rights issues in Morocco and underscores the important role of administrative justice in protecting rights and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing educational institutions.
