Rabat and New Delhi Strengthen Defense Partnership Across Multiple Sectors

Rabat, Morocco – In a move to deepen bilateral ties, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Administration of National Defense, Abdellatif Loudyi, met last Thursday with the Indian Ambassador to Morocco, Sanjay Rana, to discuss ways to enhance defense cooperation between the two countries.

Media reports indicated that the meeting between Loudyi and Rana addressed deepening the partnership in vital areas including military personnel training, maintenance of defense equipment, cybersecurity, and the exchange of technological expertise. Discussions also covered other important aspects such as maritime security, military medicine, innovation in command systems, and the production of dual-use equipment (civilian and military).


Shared Commitment to Sovereignty and Regional Cooperation

During the meeting, both officials affirmed their firm commitment to preserving national sovereignty and promoting a regional system based on dialogue and cooperation. This affirmation frames the general direction of relations between the two countries, which seek to build a sustainable strategic partnership.


Morocco Seeks to Benefit from Indian Expertise

Morocco expressed strong interest in benefiting from Indian expertise, particularly in the development of air defense systems, advanced surveillance technologies, and integrated logistical support.
