Fez, Morocco – In a qualitative security operation, public security elements from the Fès Jdid Dar Dbibegh district, under the Fez Prefectural Police, successfully arrested a 28-year-old individual today, Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The arrest was made on suspicion of his involvement in a case related to setting up a facility for manufacturing, distilling, and distributing illicit “eau de vie” (moonshine).
The suspect’s arrest took place on Wislane Road in Fez, following a successful raid on his hideout, which was specifically prepared for selling and distilling the illicit “eau de vie.” The search operation inside the hideout resulted in the seizure of a massive quantity of “eau de vie,” totaling 500 liters, in addition to 24 barrels containing the raw mixture used in its preparation, along with other materials and equipment used in the manufacturing process.
The suspect has been placed under theoretical custody, pending the investigation overseen by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office. This is to uncover all circumstances and details of this case, as well as the extent of his involvement in similar cases. Security operations remain ongoing to combat various criminal phenomena, especially the distribution of illicit alcoholic beverages and psychotropic substances, which pose a threat to public health and social security.
