According to well-informed sources, a central inspection committee from the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Higher Education visited the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir on Wednesday, as part of an ongoing investigation into the high-profile “Master’s for Money” scandal that has sparked widespread controversy.
This inspection visit follows the suspension of university professor Ahmed Qlich, who is suspected of accepting bribes in exchange for granting certain students access to Master’s programs. The case has caused a major stir within academic circles and raised serious questions about the integrity of university admission procedures.
The same sources reported that the four-member inspection team began its work by holding meetings with the faculty dean and administrative staff. The committee reviewed enrollment records and data related to Master’s program entrance exams over recent years and examined other academic files across different departments and disciplines.
This investigation is being carried out in the context of efforts to ensure transparency in academic processes, amid growing public calls for strict measures to combat corruption in Morocco’s higher education system.
