As part of the celebration of World Health Day and National Disability Day, the Governor of Boulemane, Mr. Allal El Baz, inaugurated a new social center dedicated to individuals with disabilities on Friday. This project highlights Morocco’s commitment to improving the living conditions of this important social group.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Governor’s Office, was attended by local officials, both civil and military authorities, as well as civil society representatives. Additionally, medical equipment was donated to three health centers of the third level: “Kiko, Anjil, and Skoura,” to improve healthcare services for mothers and children.
The center offers a variety of services aimed at providing social support and healthcare for people with disabilities, ensuring an environment that facilitates their better integration into society. This project was executed in partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development, with a financial investment of 2,019,191.00 Moroccan dirhams.
Four local municipalities—Imouzar Marmoucha, Kiko, Missour, and Afritisa—benefited from support, including the provision of cars specifically designed for people with disabilities, helping ease their mobility and access to essential services.
The center has been described as a significant achievement that strengthens the rights of people with disabilities and reflects the country’s efforts to foster social cohesion and sustainable development. The event featured a photographic display documenting the inauguration moments, with a focus on the modern equipment provided to ensure a suitable environment for this group.
During the celebration, participants emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting vulnerable groups in society, stressing the need to enhance integration programs across various sectors.
