The city of Fez is preparing to host the second edition of the “Trail Jbel Tghat” race, organized by the Elite Runners Association of Fez on Sunday, April 13, 2025, under the theme “Sports to Face Challenges”. The event is held under the supervision of the Moroccan Royal Federation of Mountaineering and Mountain Sports, with support from the Fez-Meknes Regional Council and the Governorate of Moulay Yacoub Province.
This edition will take place on various trails in the Douar Talaha area of Sebaa Rouadi commune, featuring several competitions, including a 25 km mountain bike race, a 10 km trail race, and a 21 km challenge race, in addition to a randonnee (hiking) event and a special children’s race.
The event aims to promote mountain and nature tourism in the region by encouraging families to break away from daily routines and enjoy the beauty of nature through sports and recreational activities. The organizing association hopes to make this race an annual event, attracting participants from both Morocco and abroad, as part of Fez’s preparations to host major sporting events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
