Student to be Tried for “False News” Regarding Alleged Rape of Students in Kiko

The Misour Court of First Instance’s Chamber of Flagrant Offenses is set to begin the trial of a student on Thursday, March 27th, on charges of publishing “false news” on his social media page regarding alleged rape of 14 female students in the Kiko area.

This trial comes as part of a firm response to rumors and false claims that attempted to tarnish the reputation of Kiko’s girls and their families, in coordination between the Boulmane regional authorities and the security and judicial services, and in consolidation of the legal security of citizens.

The accused student had published posts on his social media page containing allegations of the rape of 14 female students in the Kiko area, which caused panic and concern among residents.

The security and judicial authorities launched investigations into the case, identified and arrested the accused student. After hearing his statements, it was decided to bring him to trial on charges of publishing “false news.”

This case is seen as a clear message to anyone who attempts to spread rumors and false claims, that the authorities will not tolerate such acts that affect the security and safety of citizens.
