As part of the campaigns carried out by committees monitoring the health safety of food products directly intended for consumers, and in implementation of the directives of the Regional Governor to intensify inspection and guidance operations aimed at protecting consumers, preserving their purchasing power, and combating all forms of monopolistic practices, a monitoring committee conducted an inspection campaign on the morning of Monday, March 17, 2025. The committee, composed of the local authority in Al Farah, the Health Preservation Office of the Fez Municipality, National Security services, and Auxiliary Forces elements, targeted several wholesale marketing units for widely consumed food products, as well as units marketing and processing olives.
The operation resulted in the seizure and destruction of 300 cans of expired olives, each weighing 500 grams, at an olive processing unit that lacked proper storage conditions. This campaign is part of broader efforts to protect consumers, safeguard their purchasing power, and combat all forms of monopolistic practices and manipulation of food product quality.
This initiative is part of a wider strategy to enhance oversight of food products and ensure that commercial units comply with health and legal standards, thereby boosting consumer confidence and protecting their health and safety.
