The Fes News newspaper has received a complaint from residents of Ain Chkkef expressing their deep dissatisfaction with the deteriorating condition of a vital road that connects them to the community center and the city of Fes. This road, which serves as a crucial transportation artery, has been severely neglected despite repeated complaints and continuous appeals to the relevant authorities for intervention and repair.
In recent days, heavy rainfall in the region has exacerbated the situation, turning the road into a swamp of stagnant water and mud. This has made commuting nearly impossible for both pedestrians and vehicle owners. The worsening conditions have particularly affected the elderly and students, who struggle to reach schools and essential facilities.
Beyond daily commutes, the issue also affects worshippers heading to the mosque adjacent to the road. During this holy month, especially for Taraweeh prayers, worshippers are forced to navigate a path filled with potholes and mud, creating an unsafe and unpleasant environment for religious practices.
The residents of Ain Chkkef are urgently calling on the authorities to take immediate action to repair the road and end their ongoing suffering, especially as unpredictable weather conditions continue to worsen the situation. They urge local authorities and the municipal council to prioritize this road in infrastructure projects, emphasizing that further delays will only deepen the area’s isolation and negatively impact the quality of life for its residents.
