The Ordinary Elective General Assembly of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) in the Fès-Meknès region unanimously reappointed Omar Tajmouati and Hamza Benabdellah as president and vice-president, respectively, for a new term spanning from March 2025 to March 2028.
During the meeting, Tajmouati outlined future prospects by unveiling an “ambitious” action plan to energize the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. He emphasized the bureau’s commitment to strengthening the Council of Future Entrepreneurs, particularly through the creation of a Think-Tank to anticipate tomorrow’s economic and social trends.
In this regard, he announced the upcoming launch of an innovative concept called “Business Dating Express,” a unique format of ultra-fast professional meetings designed to optimize networking among the region’s economic actors. The goal is to enable entrepreneurs to expand their qualified contacts and explore new collaboration opportunities in an efficient and structured framework.
Mr. Tajmouati also presented the moral report, reviewing the achievements of the past term (2022-2025). These included economic development and structural investments, innovation and business attractiveness, infrastructure and logistics, as well as international outreach through strengthened institutional relations.
Particular emphasis was placed on the regional CGEM’s contribution to the development of the Ain Bida industrial zone, support for innovation through the Orange Corners Caravan, and the launch of a project to guide businesses toward Industry 4.0.
He reaffirmed the commitment to continue efforts to stimulate regional economic development.
On the financial front, the regional treasurer of CGEM, Khalid El Ajli, reported a mixed evolution in the structure of membership.
The organization experienced a gradual decline in the total number of members, dropping from 772 in 2021 to 605 in 2024. Simultaneously, the rate of members up-to-date with their contributions saw a significant decrease, falling from 61.13% in 2021 to 19.5% in 2024.
This dual trend logically impacted the financial performance of the regional branch, with its revenue decreasing from 3.1 to 2.4 million dirhams over the same period.
In accordance with the organization’s statutory provisions, the Assembly also approved the composition of the new Regional Bureau to support the presidential duo. Mohammed Choukri Belkadi was appointed as Secretary General, while Khalid El Ajli will serve as Regional Treasurer, assisted by Saad El Ouafi as Deputy Regional Treasurer.
