Our newspaper has received numerous complaints and alerts from readers residing in the neighborhoods of An-Narjis, Al-Awina, Monfleuri 1, Monfleuri 2, As-Sabati, and other adjacent areas, highlighting the shortage of on-duty pharmacies serving these vast neighborhoods. Readers reported that all these areas rely on only one on-duty pharmacy, creating significant pressure on the services provided, especially since the pharmacy typically operates with only two staff members, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the population, particularly during nighttime and weekends.
Readers also pointed out that the situation is further exacerbated by the lack of public transportation, especially taxis at night, making access to the pharmacy a daunting task, particularly for low-income families already burdened with additional financial challenges.
From this platform, we urgently call on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to increase the number of on-duty pharmacies in the Route de Sefrou area. This would alleviate the pressure on the sole existing pharmacy and facilitate patients’ access to medications at any time of the day, whether at night or during weekends.
We also demand solutions to improve public transportation at night, enabling residents, especially those with limited incomes, to access healthcare services easily and without incurring extra expenses.
Providing additional on-duty pharmacies in this vast and densely populated area will not only enhance healthcare services but also help reduce the financial and psychological burdens on citizens, reflecting the state’s commitment to ensuring everyone’s right to necessary healthcare at any time.
We hope these appeals will be heard by the responsible authorities and that the necessary measures will be taken to improve healthcare services in the area, ensuring the comfort and safety of all citizens.
