A total of 35,360 families in the Taza region benefited from the “Ramadan 1446” solidarity operation, organized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is one of the main forms of social support aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by vulnerable families.
The families benefiting from this operation were distributed across urban and rural areas, including the urban communities of Taza, Tahla, and Oued Amlil, where 7,280 families received support, while 28,080 families from rural areas in the Douars of Aknoul, Taza, Tainast, Oued Amlil, and Tahla also benefited.
This national initiative was launched under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Last Monday, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Khadija oversaw the launch of the operation from the Abir Raqraq neighborhood in Rabat, as part of a large public celebration attended by Moroccan families. Approximately one million families, or about five million people, benefit from this operation across the country.
The “Ramadan 1446” operation involves the distribution of 34,280 tons of essential foodstuffs, such as flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, pasta, lentils, and tea, with a total cost of 330 million dirhams. These aids are primarily directed towards the most vulnerable social groups, such as widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities, with the aim of alleviating their suffering during this blessed month.
74% of the families benefiting from the operation are located in rural areas, with support being distributed across 1,054 out of 1,304 targeted communes nationwide. In a new step this year, the Unified Social Register was used for the first time to update the lists of beneficiary families, under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior.
This initiative is part of the humanitarian efforts carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, to reinforce the culture of solidarity and provide support to those in need, in line with the royal directives aimed at strengthening social solidarity among all segments of Moroccan society.
