Moulay Yacoub: Health Teams Navigate Rough Terrain to Vaccinate Against Measles “Bouhammaroun”

As part of the vaccination response against measles “Bouhammaroun,” health teams were mobilized on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Comprising a doctor and nurses (a nurse and a male nurse) from the Sidi Ahmed Bernoussi Health Center, the team was deployed for an immediate vaccination campaign against the disease. The health team traveled to the Azzib El Marrakshi area, braving harsh weather conditions and rough terrain. Due to the difficult topography and narrow roads that hinder vehicle access during the winter season, the team used pack animals to reach the area.

The team successfully vaccinated 31 individuals, including 5 children under the age of 18. This measure was taken following the recording of measles cases and is part of preventive actions aimed at vaccinating all contacts to contain the spread of the virus causing “Bouhammaroun.”

It is worth noting that all health teams in the provinces of the Fez-Meknes region, like other regions of the Kingdom, continue their mobilization in coordination and cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure the success of the national vaccination campaign against measles, launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection since October 28, 2024, which is still ongoing.

It is essential for all citizens to participate in completing the vaccination against measles “Bouhammaroun” to achieve individual and collective protection.
