Regional Tourism Forum in Boulemane Showcases Positive Indicators and Promising Potential of the Region

The first edition of the Regional Tourism Forum in Boulemane Province began today, Thursday, March 6, 2025. The event is organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with several partners under the slogan “Boulemane Province: Promising Tourism Potential.”

This forum, held at the Provincial Headquarters in Boulemane-Missour, aims to highlight the tourism assets of the province and ways to develop them. A set of statistical indicators related to the tourism sector in the region was presented during the event.

Positive Tourism Flow Indicators

Statistics presented during the forum revealed a notable improvement in tourism indicators in Boulemane Province during 2024 compared to the previous year. The number of arriving tourists increased by 1% to reach 1,203 visitors, while overnight stays increased by 6% to reach 1,527 nights compared to 1,442 nights in 2023.

The average length of stay also increased by 5% to reach 1.27 days instead of 1.21 days in 2023, reflecting growing interest in the region and its tourism potential.

Domestic Tourism Leads the Sector

The data presented showed that domestic tourism represents the largest proportion of tourist flow to the province, with Moroccans accounting for 86% of overnight stays recorded during 2024, followed by France and Spain with 4% and 3% respectively, while the remaining percentage was distributed among Switzerland (1%) and other nationalities (6%).

Diverse Tourism Assets

The forum highlighted the diverse tourism assets of Boulemane Province, especially the “El Mars and Surroundings” area, which is characterized by historical monuments and dinosaur fossils. The images displayed during the forum show some of the region’s breathtaking natural landscapes, including suspension bridges and exploration areas, in addition to dinosaur fossils, which are considered among the most important geological sites of scientific and tourism value.

Future Vision

Participants in the forum aspire to develop a future vision for the development of the tourism sector in Boulemane Province by investing in its natural, cultural, and historical assets, improving tourism infrastructure, and intensifying promotional efforts to introduce the region as a promising tourist destination.

The organization of this forum comes within the framework of efforts aimed at advancing the tourism sector in Moroccan provinces and regions, and encouraging domestic tourism, which constitutes a fundamental lever for economic and social development in areas far from traditional tourist circuits.
