Fes News has learned from a reliable source that the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) in the Fes-Meknes region, as part of the implementation of the 2022-2026 roadmap for educational reform, organized the Regional Spelling Bee Competition in English on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The event took place at Tariq Ibn Ziyad High School in Azrou, Ifrane Province, in coordination with the Provincial Directorate and English language supervisors.
According to the same source, the event was attended by prominent educational figures, including the Provincial Director of Ifrane, representing the Director of the Regional Academy, along with the Head of the Regional Center for Documentation, Promotion, and Educational Production, the Head of the Educational Affairs Department, and several administrative and educational staff from across the province and region.
The competition was intense, with participants demonstrating exceptional linguistic proficiency and an outstanding ability to spell English words accurately. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and enthusiastic support from the audience.
The results of the competition were as follows:
- Malak Al-Menini from Fakhr Eddine Razi Middle School, Taza Directorate, won first place in the middle school category.
- Imane Hlafo from Thalouj High School, Hajeb Directorate, secured first place in the high school category.
- Elias Boubia from Label Excellence Institution, Meknes Directorate, achieved second place in the high school category.
According to the source, this festival aligns with the educational reform roadmap (2022-2026), which aims to enhance educational and cultural activities within schools and develop students’ linguistic and intellectual skills.
