As part of ongoing efforts to promote health awareness within educational institutions, Fes News has learned that the Regional Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Sefrou organized an awareness meeting on measles (“Bouhmerroun”) on Tuesday, February 25, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Early Childhood Education, and under the supervision of the Regional Health Directorate of the Fes-Meknes region.
According to the information obtained by the newspaper, the meeting, which took place at both the Al Ansar Middle School and Al Ansar Primary School, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of measles, its modes of transmission, and to emphasize the importance of vaccination as a fundamental preventive measure. This aligns with the theme of this year’s Maghreb School Health Days: “The Importance of Vaccination as a Key, Safe, and Effective Intervention in School Health.”
The event also highlighted the national catch-up vaccination campaign targeted at children under the age of 18, providing details on its objectives and methods for its successful implementation to ensure comprehensive prevention against this contagious disease.
Over 200 participants, including students and educational staff, took part in the activity, and they expressed appreciation for this health initiative. They underscored the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders to enhance health education and prevention within the school environment. Attendees also commended the efforts of healthcare staff to ensure the safety and health of students.
