Gaming: Rachida Dati Praises Morocco’s Advances

French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, highlighted on Tuesday in Salé the significant progress made by Morocco in the gaming industry, which has grown tremendously in recent years, becoming appealing to both Moroccan youth and young people from abroad.

In a statement to the press following a meeting at the International University of Rabat (UIR) for the presentation of the progress of the “Video Game Creator” training program, Dati, accompanied by the Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, praised Morocco’s efforts to develop this industry and enhance the skills of young Moroccans in this field.

She also reaffirmed France’s commitment to promoting cultural cooperation with the Kingdom for the benefit of both countries, noting that cultural-focused meetings are scheduled for 2026.

Dati pointed out that this win-win cooperation would benefit not only the Moroccan and French economies but also an entire ecosystem extending beyond the borders of both nations.

On his part, Bensaid emphasized the importance of the partnership between Morocco and France in the gaming industry, highlighting the role of the “Video Game Creator” program, launched in partnership with “ISART DIGITAL,” the world’s second-best video game development school, UIR, and the French Embassy, in strengthening the skills of Moroccan youth. The aim is to make Morocco “a pioneer in the gaming field.”

“The video game sector offers numerous opportunities that we must seize as part of the Moroccan economy, which requires well-trained human resources,” he stressed.

He added that “thanks to our partnership with France, Moroccan students have benefited from training focused on the gaming world,” noting that the Kingdom has become an attractive destination for many international startups eager to invest in this sector.
