The agency expressed its appreciation for the successful security operation carried out by the Regional Judicial Police Brigade in coordination with the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, which led to the arrest of seven individuals involved in defrauding those seeking visas to travel outside Morocco.
The agency emphasized that this operation reflects the vigilance of security services in combating counterfeiting and fraud networks that exploit citizens’ need to obtain visa appointments by making false promises in exchange for significant sums of money.
In its statement, the agency added that such practices harm the reputation of accredited travel agencies that operate in accordance with applicable laws. It noted that many victims are lured by illegal intermediaries, believing they can facilitate procedures, only to find themselves caught in a trap of fraud.
The agency called on the relevant authorities to tighten measures against illegal intermediaries and establish strict monitoring mechanisms to prevent visa applicants from being exploited by fraud networks. It stressed that the solution lies in enhancing coordination between consulates and concerned parties to reduce this phenomenon and ensure transparency in visa application procedures.
The agency concluded its statement by urging citizens to deal only with officially licensed agencies that adhere to legal standards, in order to protect their rights and ensure access to services in a legal and secure manner.
