The Robot 11 Janvier team, affiliated with the 11 Janvier High School in the Moulay Yacoub Regional Directorate under the Fes-Meknes Regional Academy of Education and Training, has been crowned champion of the FIRST TECH CHALLENGE National Robotics Championship. The event took place last Saturday at the National School of Arts and Crafts.
The team won all of its elimination matches, securing a spot in the final after choosing CASABOTS as their alliance partner. In the final match, the team outperformed the opposing alliance, earning the Captain Award as well as the Machine, Creativity, and Innovation (MCI) Award, which recognizes the team’s efforts in planning, designing, building, operating, and controlling their robots.
This victory has granted the team the opportunity to represent the Kingdom of Morocco at the World Robotics Festival, held annually in Houston, Texas, USA.
On this occasion, Mr. Mohsen Aamjan, Principal of the 11 Janvier High School, extended his warmest congratulations to the team for their dedication and hard work. He also praised the efforts of the team’s mentors, Mr. Abderrazak Chtoui and Mr. Abdelhakim Belkadi, who played a pivotal role in achieving this success.
Additionally, the Regional Director of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports in Moulay Yacoub was commended for his continuous support and encouragement of such initiatives, as was the Director of the Fes-Meknes Regional Academy of Education and Training.
Special thanks were also extended to the Governor of Moulay Yacoub for his ongoing support of the educational system in the region, as well as to the President of the Moulay Yacoub Territorial Council and the Association of Parents and Guardians of Students at the 11 Janvier High School.
Recognition was also given to the LOOP for Science and Technology association for its unwavering support of public educational institutions in the fields of science and technology.
This achievement adds to a series of successes by the Robot 11 Janvier team, showcasing the advanced level of young talent in robotics and innovation on a national scale.
