Failure to Vote on 2025 Budget for the Territorial Groupings Council Due to Lack of Quorum

The official summons issued by the Territorial Groupings Council for “Distribution” in the Fez-Meknes region revealed the failure to achieve the legal quorum required to vote on the 2025 budget. This meeting followed the failure of the first session called by the council president, which saw only 64 out of 203 members in attendance, prompting the issuance of a second summons.

The first meeting, convened to discuss the group’s budget, failed to meet the legal quorum, preventing a vote on the agenda items. Among the key points scheduled for discussion were:

  1. Review of the minutes of the regular session for February 2025.
  2. Deliberation on the items included in the agenda.
  3. Voting on the 2025 budget for the Territorial Groupings Council.

This failure to achieve the required quorum highlights the challenges facing the council’s operations, especially given the importance of the proposed budget, which is crucial for managing the affairs of the territorial communities under the council’s jurisdiction.

The upcoming meeting, to be held soon, is expected to see intensified efforts to ensure the legal quorum is met and necessary decisions are made. This step is essential to avoid further delays in approving the budget, which will directly impact the services provided to citizens in the region.

It is worth noting that the Territorial Groupings Council for “Distribution” comprises 203 members and is one of the most important local bodies responsible for coordinating and implementing public policies at the regional level.
