On Sunday, January 19, 2025, the Fes-Meknes region witnessed the convening of the Regional Conference of the National Union for Educational Administration Staff, affiliated with the Moroccan Labor Union’s National Federation of Education. This event is part of the organizational program established by the regional office to strengthen union efforts and unify the demands of educational administration staff for their legitimate rights.
In an exclusive statement to Fes News, Ahmed Boutamzkida, the regional secretary of the National Federation of Education and a member of its executive office, emphasized the importance of the conference. He noted that its primary aim was to renew the union’s administrative structures and incorporate new, competent members capable of addressing challenges and advocating for the profession’s needs. Boutamzkida highlighted that educational administration staff form the backbone of the educational system and asserted that no reform could succeed without improving their conditions and addressing their aspirations.
Omar El Kawah, the provincial secretary of the National Federation of Education in Fes, stated that the conference’s goals include rejuvenating union structures and promoting collective action. He expressed hope that the conference would result in recommendations serving the interests of educational administration staff and strengthening their achievements. El Kawah further pointed out that the significant participation of staff from all educational levels—primary, middle, and secondary—reflects their awareness of the importance of union work to achieve their rightful demands, such as better working conditions and guaranteed rights.
The conference was distinguished by the presence of Hassan Omribet, the national secretary of the National Union for Educational Administration Staff, along with representatives from the Fes Regional Union and prominent union figures. The discussions during the sessions highlighted the challenges facing educational administration staff, with an emphasis on adopting a participatory approach between the union and responsible authorities to achieve the desired reforms.
The conference concluded on a note of optimism and unity, reaffirming the crucial role of union activities in supporting the educational sector and defending the rights of its members.
