Fes Provincial Council Approves Key Development Projects in Regular Session

On the morning of Monday, January 13, 2025, the First Vice-President of the Fes Provincial Council, Mohamed Al-Mahboub, chaired the council’s regular session, attended by its members and all relevant officials. The session focused on several pivotal issues related to the region’s progress, and saw unanimous approval of a series of agreements aimed at enhancing the city’s social, economic, and cultural infrastructure.

In a statement following the session, Al-Mahboub shared that the President of the Council was absent due to health issues, and expressed well wishes for his swift recovery. Despite the absence, Al-Mahboub confirmed that the session was successful, with all agenda items approved.

Among the notable projects approved was a partnership agreement with the “Siraj Association for Social Work,” with the council allocating 900,000 MAD over three years. Additionally, the agreement with the “Enma Association for Self-Employment” was amended, and a funding agreement for the purchase of medical equipment for Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital, valued at 480,000 MAD, was also agreed upon.

Al-Mahboub further announced the approval of 723,000 MAD for the “Contribution Association for Chest Surgery Patients” and 863,000 MAD for the “Association for a Healthy Child” to purchase modern medical equipment, enhancing health services in the region.

Cultural services were also bolstered, with the council agreeing to an annual grant of 500,000 MAD for three years for the “Fes Festival of Sufi Music.” Furthermore, 1.2 million MAD was allocated for the renovation of cemeteries across the province.

In terms of infrastructure, the council approved a project to develop roads and green spaces in the Ain Bieda district, along with a plan to carry out a study for the region’s waste management master plan.
