An official correspondence issued by the Governor of Moulay Yacoub Province on January 10, 2025, revealed several irregularities in the 2025 budget project for the Moulay Yacoub municipality, which was discussed during the extraordinary session held on December 26, 2024.
The letter addressed to the President of the Moulay Yacoub Municipal Council highlighted several key observations, including:
- Discrepancies in data and allocations between the council’s deliberation minutes and the budget project document.
- Non-compliance with the proper voting sequence on the budget project, where voting on equipment budget revenues was conducted immediately after voting on operating budget revenues, before voting on operating budget expenditures.
- A difference in the total allocations of Chapter 10 of operating budget expenditures between the adopted decision (12,027,317.00 MAD) and the budget project (11,997,317.00 MAD).
- Failure to allocate the specified funds for employee promotion arrears, amounting to 2,971,097.14 MAD, which were intended to resolve the financial situation of employees.
In conclusion, the Governor forwarded the administrative decision regarding the Moulay Yacoub municipality’s operating budget for 2025, pending response from the relevant central services of the Ministry of Interior on the matter.
