Reliable sources have revealed that Morocco’s MAS Fez football club is very close to officially signing German coach Josef Zinnbauer to lead the team for the remainder of the current football season. Reports indicate that only minor details separate the two parties from finalizing the deal, with Zinnbauer expected to assume his duties with the team starting from the sixteenth round of the Moroccan Professional League.
Zinnbauer’s name had recently been linked with a potential return to coaching Raja Casablanca, with whom he achieved a league and cup double last season. However, the German coach has opted for a new challenge with MAS Fez after departing from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Wahda club due to poor results.
It’s worth noting that Zinnbauer has a diverse coaching record, having previously managed several clubs in Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, and Russia. He achieved notable success with Orlando Pirates in South Africa, leading the team to victory in the MTN 8K Cup in 2020.
This move by MAS Fez comes as part of their efforts to improve the team’s position in the Moroccan league, where they currently occupy fifth place with 25 points after 16 rounds[5].
