As Fes prepares for the upcoming New Year celebrations, Mohamed Boulahebash, head of the Urban Police Command at the Fes Provincial Police, announced a comprehensive security plan aimed at ensuring a safe and organized celebration for all.
In his statements, Boulahebash explained that Fes’s police department has mobilized all its security resources to ensure the safety of the entire city. The measures include increasing police presence across all areas, along with intensified patrols by various specialized units, such as traffic officers, urban police, motorcycle units, and rapid intervention teams to handle any emergencies during the celebrations.
The plan also focuses on securing major celebration venues, particularly popular tourist spots, traditional markets, and restaurants in the old city. Hotels, both classified and non-classified, will be closely monitored, as well as key locations with high foot traffic, including large supermarkets and sweet shops like Marjane and Asima.
The security measures also involve the deployment of administrative and judicial checkpoints to ensure smooth celebrations. Specialized teams have been equipped to respond quickly to road accidents and other emergencies, ensuring swift assistance to the public in urgent situations.
Boulahebash emphasized that all these preparations aim to create a secure environment that allows both Fes residents and visitors to enjoy their New Year’s celebrations with peace of mind. He assured that the Fes Police are fully prepared to guarantee a successful and safe celebration, welcoming 2025 under the best security conditions.
