In a move that has been widely welcomed by the residents of Fes, several public spaces previously occupied across various neighborhoods, including the Oueinat Al-Hajjaj area, have been cleared. This decision has restored the city’s charm, making it more organized and aesthetically pleasing.
However, despite these positive developments, residents of Oueinat Al-Hajjaj continue to express dissatisfaction with the ongoing occupation of public land in some vital areas. This ongoing issue remains a point of concern, even though actions have been taken to free several public spaces across the city.
While the overall decision to liberate public spaces has brought comfort to the city’s residents and contributed to its improved appearance, the exclusion of certain kiosks from the process has raised many questions. In response, local residents have issued an urgent appeal to Mr. Maadh Al-Jamahi, Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, urging him to intervene and pressure the relevant authorities to remove these kiosks. They argue that clearing the public space in this area would significantly contribute to creating a more organized urban environment, thus fostering sustainable development in the region.
