In a step towards escalation, employees of the Zouaga Moulay Yacoub real estate complex in Fes, which is part of the National Agency for Land Conservation, Cadastral Survey, and Cartography, organized a protest demanding improved working conditions and a suitable environment that preserves their dignity. The protest, attended by many employees, is part of their broader demands for better agency infrastructure and a safer working environment.
The participants raised the slogan of continuous struggle until their legitimate demands are met, stressing in their statements that their current situation is not commensurate with the efforts they put into serving the public and citizens. The protesters pointed out that the conditions at the agency have been steadily deteriorating, particularly regarding the infrastructure, which poses a daily challenge for them.
In this context, the protesters called on the management of the National Agency for Land Conservation to provide a new, safe building that guarantees the dignity and comfort of the employees, and ensures appropriate working conditions. They also expressed their total rejection of what they described as “dishonest dialogue” and “half-solutions” that have failed to meet their basic needs.
The National Union for Land Conservation, in a statement, added: “We demand the implementation of radical solutions and that our demands be taken seriously, without resorting to unproductive dialogue or temporary solutions that fail to bring about meaningful change.”
The protest, organized by the employees, will continue until 12:30 p.m.
The hope remains for a response from the agency’s management to these legitimate demands, in order to prevent further escalation and ensure a working environment that respects the rights of all parties involved.
