Ifrane District Governor, Mr. Idriss Msabbah, chaired a high-level meeting at the district headquarters, attended by local officials and representatives from key sectors, to discuss launching significant projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and tourism services in preparation for hosting World Cup 2030 visitors.
The meeting, held in collaboration with Fes Province, focused on coordinating efforts between the two regions to provide an ideal environment that meets FIFA standards. Key areas of focus included accommodation, transportation, and sports and tourism infrastructure. The main projects discussed include:
- Upgrading road infrastructure between Fes and Ifrane to improve connectivity and ease visitor movement.
- Enhancing tourism facilities, including increasing the accommodation capacity of hotels and entertainment venues in Ifrane, renowned as a top mountain tourism destination.
- Improving essential services, such as security and transportation, to ensure a well-organized and welcoming environment for visitors.
Governor Msabbah highlighted the critical role Ifrane can play in supporting Morocco’s bid to host the World Cup. He emphasized the region’s natural and touristic assets, which make it an ideal location for providing a comfortable and exceptional experience for event guests.
He also called for close coordination with Fes Province to ensure the efficient and timely implementation of projects, meeting the objectives set forth as part of the preparations for the 2030 World Cup.
