Fez: Training Workshop on Data Digitization for Health Professionals in the Fez-Meknes Region

As part of the ongoing royal initiatives and strategic projects in Morocco’s health sector, particularly those related to restructuring the national health system, a key pillar in ensuring the proper implementation of universal social protection, especially the aspect related to the information system linked to the National Tuberculosis Control Program, the Directorate of Epidemiology and Disease Control, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Fez-Meknes region, organized a training workshop on December 12, 2024, at the Regional Directorate’s meeting hall.

The workshop focused on digitizing data related to tuberculosis patients using the ISILAT/DHIS2 digital application. It was designed for health professionals responsible for the tuberculosis control program across the region’s provinces.

This training workshop provided an opportunity for exchanging experiences and information among various stakeholders. It included theoretical and practical lessons on activating and inputting data, and opened discussions on various questions related to the training topic. At the conclusion, participants expressed the extent of skills they acquired during the training session.

It’s worth noting that this IT application will allow health professionals to collect data and facilitate the monitoring of tuberculosis patients from initial diagnosis to the end of treatment. The application aims to reduce the use of traditional methods in data recording, making the task of health professionals easier, more convenient, and time and effort-saving.

This initiative reflects Morocco’s commitment to modernizing its health system and improving the quality of care provided to patients, especially in the field of combating infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.
